Session Descriptions:
Session 1:
How is Discipleship Accomplished in Storytelling?
It’s great knowing that storytelling IS an effective tool for discipleship. Equally important for those of us who want to disciple through our stories is knowing HOW discipleship is accomplished in storytelling. This session will delve into the ways in which stories encourage, exhort, and influence others in their pursuit of God.
Session 2:
What Hinders Discipleship in Storytelling?
Have you ever felt uncertain, unable, or even inhibited in your efforts to weave Christianity into your storytelling? This session will present five hinderances that often disrupt a storyteller’s ability to create stories meant to disciple others, and it will provide you with a number of ways these hinderances can be overcome.
Session 3:
Avoiding the Pitfalls of Preachiness
Almost all of us have encountered a Christian storyteller whose stories made us roll our eyes or cringe. This session will unpack why the message of certain stories ring false or feel overly pushy. This session will then show you how to craft Biblical truths in your story in ways that are realistic and relatable.
Session 4:
Pursuing Effective Discipleship in Storytelling
Discipleship is not a passive accomplishment but rather an active endeavor. This session will delineate seven important pursuits that will help you gain a clearer vision of God’s mission for your storytelling, better footing as you craft your stories, and healthier practices that will liberate and strengthen you in Jesus Christ as you go forth and make disciples.
