Do you struggle with whether or not to include your faith in your stories? Come to the IDS conference and hear from other storytellers why they have chosen to share their Christianity in their stories.
Have you found it difficult or awkward to ask for help with your story’s Christian content? Do you worry your story’s content might be cheesy or preachy but are afraid to seek feedback that will only tell you the flaws and not how to fix them? We get it. We’ve been there too. That’s part of why we launched the IDS conference. Join us and become part of a community where you can come and talk about your goals and struggles and receive help and encouragement in pursuing what God has laid on your heart to put into your stories.
Do you question how to include your faith and why it even matters? Come to IDS and hear how other storytellers include Christianity in their stories and how it has made a difference in people’s lives.
Have you struggled to find the right balance between your story and your Christian content? What if we told you it’s not about balance but rather about integrating story and faith in ways that make the Christian content no longer an awkward weight to your story but rather a unified, meaningful element woven in naturally? Join us at the IDS conference and receive help creating stories with realistic and relevant comments, questions, and conversations about faith that flow innately and truly engage your audience.

You will find that these goals define the content and schedule for this conference. Every sessions is focused around discipleship, and the schedule includes lengthy breaks between sessions to give you time to connect with your fellow attendees so that you can build friendships to encourage and support one another.

1-Day Conference that will…

~ bring you together with other individuals who wish to pursue Christian storytelling.
~ teach you how to effectively, respectfully, and authentically weave into your stories the truth of who God is, what He has done, and what He is doing.
~ encourage you to not grow weary and to hold fast to your pursuit of placing God at the center of your storytelling.
~ unite you with other storytellers to help you exhort and encourage one another in using the gifts God has given you to go and make disciples (Matt 28:19)
Stories are a powerful tool for expressing truth.
We have the opportunity to use stories to share about Jesus–the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Culturally there’s a lot of pushback against anyone who chooses to use their voice and talents to intentionally share their Christian faith. That is why this conference is focused on helping storytellers navigate this pressure and succeed in triumphantly sharing well-crafted stories that effectively disciple others.
If you have pursued Christian storytelling for any length of time, you’ve probably heard some version of one of these comments:
“You can just make your stories clean, they don’t have to be Christian.” (i.e. Don’t bring up God. He doesn’t sell well.)
“Christianity in stories is always either preachy or cheesy.” (i.e. If you do bring up God, you’ll do it wrong.)
